The BNI Founder
The CEO of BNI is Ivan Misner, Ph.D.

BNI, the world’s largest business networking organization, was founded by Dr. Ivan Misner, who also serves as its Chief Visionary Officer. More than 9,800 chapters have been established around the world since the organization was founded in 1985. A total of $16.7 billion in business was generated by BNI members in the last year.
Dr. Misner earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California (USC). “Who’s in Your Room?” is a best-seller in the New York Times and he’s published more than two dozen other works. The University of La Verne has appointed him to its Board of Trustees as well as a columnist for Entrepreneur.com. He has also taught at the school.
In both Forbes and CNN, Dr. Misner has been referred to as the “Father of Modern Networking.” One of the world’s foremost authorities on business networking, he has delivered keynote addresses for numerous multinational firms and professional organizations throughout the globe. The Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times have all written about him. In addition to CNN, BBC, and NBC’s Today Show, he has been on numerous other media outlets.
In addition to the Red Cross “Humanitarian of the Year” award and the John C. Maxwell Leadership Award, he has received numerous other honors. Having founded the BNI Charitable Foundation with his late wife, Elisabeth, is a joy for him. They became “empty nesters” after raising their three children. Oh, and he’s a black belt in karate and performs magic tricks in his spare time.
