Filipinos have many sayings about how we should handle life challenges like “kung hindi ukol, hindi bubukol” (if it’s not meant for you, it will not prosper] and “kapag may tiyaga, may nilaga” (if there’s perseverance, there’s abundance). Perhaps, those sayings trigger resilience amidst various crises in the Philippines.  On the other note, handling problems is going to be tough if you have failures after failures So what will you do?

One of the best solutions is to get inspirations from successful people. In case you don’t know, a lot of prominent names today in different industries started out as nobody, but become somebody due to their diligence to win their battles.

The Rock of Stallone –   Do you know how Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone achieved his stellar showbiz career? Before he became a popular action star, Stallone was a homeless man who’s too broke that he even sold his dog for $25.  And of all the jobs, he was determined to sell a script he wrote out of watching Muhammad Ali’s fight with Chuck Wepner.  But that’s not only he wanted, he persevered to star in his own movie even if someone’s already mocked his looks and offered whopping $350,000. In the end, he closed the deal for $35,000 so he could portray his best creation “Rocky Balboa” that garnered awards including Best Direction and Best Picture at the Oscar Awards. Apart from those, he also received several acting nominations.

To date, Jordan didn’t only impress his former coach, but also the world.

J.K. Rowling – Harry Potter is long over, but no doubt it remains a cult classic best-selling novel series that also made a record-breaking box office hit movie franchise. Good thing author JK Rowling pushed her luck to make her novel to be published despite of being a homeless jobless single mother before.  Today, Rowling is one of the most recognized and richest authors in the world.

Failures make people feel bad about their selves that they almost forget what they already achieved in life. What’s worst is their feelings hinder their hope to stand up once again and be the best persons they want to be.  In case you don’t learn it yet, Thomas Edison once shared “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work” in relation to his greatest invention –the light bulb.
