Park Inn Iloilo Marks 7 Years of Ilonggo Hospitality & Culture | ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo is celebrating its seventh anniversary, marking seven years of welcoming guests, championing local culture, and building meaningful partnerships within the Ilonggo community.
Opened in 2019, the hotel is a partnership between Radisson Hotel Group and SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC). Since opening its doors, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo has become part of the city’s growing tourism and hospitality landscape.
“Seven years ago, we envisioned Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo as a landmark property that would add to the vibrant tourism landscape of Western Visayas,” said Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SMHCC. She added that the hotel’s growth reflects the company’s commitment to creating meaningful experiences while supporting sustainable community development across the Philippines.
Celebrating Safety, Culinary Excellence and Innovation
The anniversary comes as the hotel continues to strengthen its standards in hospitality. Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo recently earned Safehotels Certification, recognizing the property’s compliance with rigorous safety and security standards.
Its culinary team also brought home honors from the 16th National Food Showdown, earning a Gold medal for its signature Bibingka and a Silver medal for Valenciana.
“Food is more than nourishment. It is one of the strongest connections we have to our culture,” said Rouel Guanzon, General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo. He noted that the awards recognize the passion of the hotel’s chefs in preserving and elevating culinary traditions.

Technology is also enhancing the guest experience. Through the StayPlease digital platform, guests can conveniently order food using their mobile devices.
Beyond hotel service, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo is also creating platforms that celebrate local gastronomy. Its Beyond the Plate masterclass introduces students to gastronomic storytelling, while Panubli-on, a documentary series, highlights local dishes and the culinary families behind them.
People and Community at the Heart of Hospitality
The hotel’s employees remain central to its success. Lucky Alunan was recognized with the Front of House Award at the SMHCC President’s Go Beyond Awards.
Guanzon also actively contributes to the wider business and tourism community as an officer of the Iloilo Hotels, Restaurants and Resorts Association and a director of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Iloilo.
The hotel’s commitment to community extends beyond tourism and business. Its team recently visited the Iloilo City Pound and Animal Shelter, donating supplies and supporting efforts to care for rescued animals.

“At its core, hospitality is about care,” Guanzon said. “Whether we are serving a guest, supporting our local business community, or looking out for our four-legged friends, we believe these acts of kindness are what make Iloilo special.”
Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo marked its anniversary with a gathering on April 27, 2026, followed by a luncheon for media partners the following day.
As it enters its eighth year, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo looks ahead to continuing its tradition of warm service, culinary creativity, local storytelling and community engagement—bringing together global hospitality standards with the distinctive heart of Iloilo.
